Vintage poster: Mary Cassatt, Modern Woman at the Art Institute of Chicago, 1998
Vintage poster from the Art Institute of Chicago's 1998-9 exhibition Mary Cassatt: Modern Woman. Cassatt was an American artist who was able to travel to Paris, befriend the Impressionists, and achieve international fame for her intimate depictions of the bond between mother and child and of the new woman. Cassatt is a feminist icon for her depictions of women's complex inner lives and stands in contrast to the misogyny of so much of Western art history.
What we love about it: This poster celebrates Cassatt appropriately, with a stunning palette and typography. It is slightly narrower than a standard poster size. We love both the look of these dimensions and how it makes the poster more versatile for hanging in narrower, tall spaces.
Dimensions: 48.25 x 91.5 cm framed
This item is in excellent condition and is offered framed. Note that detailed condition reports are available for all artworks upon request.
