Endel Ruberg, untitled watercolour, c. 1950s-70s
Endel Ruberg was an experimental artist who, in addition to his contributions to Canadian art, was a committed humanitarian who fought to end the Soviet occupation of his native Estonia.
Ruberg emigrated to Canada in 1951 and fell in love with the Laurentian forests. In fact, he painted his watercolours exclusively outdoors, as direct contact with nature was very important to him.
What we love about it: this watercolour is a fantastic example of Ruberg's akvarelli külmutustehnika, a watercolour freezing technique that creates a crystallization on the paper. You can see the crystallization in the upper right corner of the composition.
Dimensions: 30.5 x 40.5 cm
This watercolour is in excellent condition and is offered framed. Note that detailed condition report is available upon request for all artworks.
